Affilorama Weekly Update 28

Feb 6th, 2011 | By | Category: Affilorama Website Update, Uncategorized

I’ve been plotting along all week, doing my tasks each day. I’m saving up some money to purchase a domain name for my first adsense site. I have about 6 articles that are due on the 9th of this month. I plan on developing more content as time permits. I sent my new writer (thanks Michelle) a list of about 75 themed related phrases that I wanted included into each of the 6 articles. This not only helps with making the page better optimized and “themed” for my initial keyword, it also serves a few other purposes.

Since the articles will be well themed, they will show up for all kinds of random phrase combinations you could never dream of thinking by yourself. Also it will show up higher for the actual keyword you’re trying for since it’s such a well themed page. On top of that, since you have a well themed page with tons of related phrases you don’t need as many backlinks to rank. You still need backlinks don’t get me wrong but it doesn’t appear as if you need as many to get results. My philosophy is to do both. Also by using this on page method, you don’t have to worry about google slaps and poor quality content jacking up your rankings.

Anyway I’ve been working on bidding on some domains to buy for this project. I also have a domain I might use (no real backlinks to it, but it goes back to 2003) so I’ll decide on this later. That domain name is totally not related to this new adsense site so we’ll see.

As I’ve mentioned I’ve got 5 domains I’m really trying hard to get up to 300 visitors per day by June of this year. Not sure if I’ll be able to do that but I’m doing my best. I figure if I could do that, I could really start making some waves. My goal is to hire another full time VA by June as well. Then my end of year goal is to be up to $2,500 a month by the end of 2011. I think that’s totally doable. I’ve had a hand full of sales recently from my newsletter which is pretty fun. Glad that is starting to pay off.

Also I got the free upgrade to Submiteaze v.10. That’s a sweet tool. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. I actually bough that a few years back when I worked for a professional seo company and they’ve really upgraded the tool nicely since then.

      Race,

Thanks for your encouragement. Sometimes I wonder if this is all going to pay off and…can I wait that long, you know what I mean? It’s all about perseverance…

  2. Nice to see you stepping into Adsense. That’s what I’m currently messing with. I’m reading and following your every post! Keep them coming, please. You affiliate marketing guys make me jealous. Adsense is a much slower journey it seems.

How is your progress with Adsense? I think it’s a great way to earn money. The problem is too many people don’t stick with one thing long enough eh!

    Hi Justin!

I see that CB is really wierd sometimes, some days are 0, then sudden spikes and all sites are making sales. Your sales are more conistent than mine, it’s more stable, imagine I look into my CB account each day and see 0 sales 3-4 days in a row, I start panics and look for 9-5 job =))

Full time VAs are the real help! I’ve hired one VA and one of my old Odesk VAs now wants to work full time for me, so this is great. I hope to get all my SEO done with $600/month spend. Teh opportunities are really huge, usually I see laziness as the #1 factor of stagnation for me…

      Hi Grand,

I know I start panicking too when I see multiple days w/no sales. I hate that! Keep going though and in a year we’ll both be rocking and rolling. That day can’t come soon enough…
